Hasbro’s CEO to Step Down

hasbro_logo.jpgHasbro’s CEO, Alfred Verrecchia, is stepping down. He will be replaced by current COO, Brian Goldner.

Verrecchia has spent 43 years at Hasbro and took over as president and chief executive in 2003, succeeding Alan Hassenfeld, a member of Hasbro’s founding family. Hassenfeld, the current board chairman, will step down as chair but remain a board member, the company said. Goldner joined Hasbro in 2000 from Bandai America Inc., becoming COO in 2006, and has helped Verrecchia orchestrate a comeback for the once-troubled company.

Hasbro’s prices are also set to rise to offset increasing costs.

A Canadian rock band Plants and Animals is an upcoming Canadian rock band. After a grueling day of interviews and photos, they let slip one of the group’s off-topic passions: Beyond Balderdash.

It’s like the first Balderdash, only instead of making up definitions, you get, like, a movie title and you have to come up with the plot synopsis that goes with it … I keep saying they should put it in casinos because a lot of my friends are really good at it. We could totally clean up.
