Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.

Games Workshop, creator of the Space Hulk board game, has shut down a popular PC implementation of the game.  The free fan-made version, produced by Teardown , has been getting some positive press over the past couple of weeks from tabletop and video game fans alike. According to Ars Technica, GW contacted the ISP hosting the game, and the ISP has taken down the files.  The Teardown team is planning to speak to GW tomorrow.

This is not the first time that Games Workshop has had an issue with fan implementations of their games, as they  recently pulled all VASSAL modules for their games.  It seems to me, however, that Teardown’s version of Space Hulk created a lot of new interest in the game.
