atlas_games_logo.jpgBoard, card, and roleplaying game publisher Atlas Games is set to be acquired by PDF game publisher Ronin Arts within a year.

According to Atlas Games’ press release, this sale was brought about in an effort to adapt to the online marketplace. I think we can assume from this that Ronin will be converting Atlas’s games to PDF format in the near future.

Not a Trivial Investment

4045819c7842_main400.jpgHasbro announced Monday that it has acquired all of the intellectual property rights related to the board game Trivial Pursuit. Hasbro, who has already been developing, marketing, and selling Trivial Pursuit under license since 1983, completed the purchase from Horn Abbot companies for $80 million. Hasbro immediately announced the launch of a Trivial Pursuit television game show for premier this fall.
