Geek Fight! is a proposed CCG in the works from Diving Dragon Games by Kale Vanquen of Under the Table Gaming.

The idea originated with his need for business cards. Instead, he wants advertisers to buy space on the cards, pay artists with credit lines (for now), and give the cards out as a game to be played.

All very nice, but no details about the mechanics or theme of the game are available, yet, except that one card is called Sword of 1000 Souls.

Trail of Cthulhu

PDF versions of this roleplaying game have been released by Pelgrane Press. Now in addition to the hardback book, Trail of Cthulhu is available as a PDF of the full game, in a Player’s Guide version containing all non-GM material, and in a Game Group bundle of one full book and three Player’s Guides. Trail of Cthulhu uses the GUMSHOE system for investigative roleplaying in the world of Lovecraft’s literature.

The Great War

The latest post in the Osprey Publishing Blog reviews The Great War by Warhammer Historical. The book, just released, provides rules, scenarios, and army lists for a World War I miniatures war game. According to Osprey, by focusing on the years 1914 and 1918 (the beginning and end of the war), the game largely avoids the potential pitfall of trying to model static trench warfare.

Sundered Skies

This new release by Pinnacle Entertainment Group for the Savage Worlds roleplaying system details a dark fantasy setting including floating islands, sky pirates, a past apocalypse, and the threat of an even greater impending catastrophe. Sundered Skies also uses Pinnacle’s Plot Point system, which provides a number of related adventure scenarios that can be run in any order yet still contribute to an overall campaign goal.
