Wizards of the Coast will be co-sponsoring the mass GenCon gaming event, which they do every year. Wizards will be showing off Dungeons and Dragons 4.0 and a new “Living Forgotten Realms” campaign setting.
This is good for GenCon, who needs a successful con to pay off its debts, and good for WotC, who needs a successful con to receive the money they are owed from GenCon.

Steve Jackson Games has made its original Cardboard Heroes set of fantasy player characters available for download. Available for purchase through the e23 web store, these are essentially small-scale character illustrations designed to be printed, folded, and used as miniatures.
Troll Lord Games has just released Dro Mandras, an adventure module for the Castles & Crusades roleplaying game. In it is described the capitol of the Duchy of Karbosk, under siege by orcs. Venture there and you may be able to save the gateway to civilization from the marauding hordes.
