I’m pretty sure I don’t spend that much on my own gaming obsession. And what I buy, I plan to leave to future generations, something that may be difficult to do with an XBox.

Strictly speaking, this isn’t a new one. Originally published in 2006 in Japan, Traders of Carthage is now available in the American market through the efforts of Z-Man Games. Game play also seems to have some unique features. Players buy goods from a central market. The purchase of goods draws more ships to the market in Carthage. But when a new ship arrives, those stuck en route are hit by pirates.
Back in May, we reported both that Privateer Press would be adding tokens to its line of game accessories and that Gale Force Nine would be producing tokens for Privateer’s WARMACHINE game. Well, now it seems that is not to be. Privateer has terminated Gale Force Nine’s license to produce WARMACHINE and HORDES accessories. As a result, branded tokens, templates, and dice will not be available direct from Gale Force Nine after July 26th. Terrain sets will remain available for a little longer—through September 16th.
FIDE has signed an agreement with the Russian Badminton Federation to cross-promote their games to each others’ constituents.
The deal will promote badminton to chess players as “the most optimal for physical activity of chess players”.
