Climate Camp is an environmental protest movement aimed at mass demonstration in the UK once a year. This year’s camp runs from August 3 to August 11 at Kingsnorth, Kent, with a mass demonstration planned on August 9 to “shut down” a coal power station (or prevent a new one from being built, or something on that order).

The police, anticipating trouble, swept in and confiscated bolt croppers, super glue, padded suits, climbing ropes and pipes, as well as a bicycle repair kit, three board games and a pack of children’s crayons.

The mind boggles. No wait … yes, the mind boggles. Which board games?

Update: According to the War on Terror Board Game Blog, it was three of their games that were taken.

Grey Ranks, Jason Morningstar’s roleplaying game about teenage partisans in the Polish uprising during World War II, has recently received some attention from Polish Radio. According to their report, the game is being studied by the Museum of the Warsaw Rising, which finds that Grey Ranks provides an alternative method for commemorating historical events in a way that may be better for young audiences.
