Well, somewhat Hawaiian. You see, according to an article in Today’s Local News (a small California community newspaper) Eileen Tupman founded Akamai Games to make and sell Pele’s Perils and Ohana Mana. The games do incorporate lessons on Hawaiian language, culture, and history, but they’re derivatives of Parcheesi and Chutes and Ladders. Maybe not bad for the youngest children, but I’ll stick with my favorite game to focus on Polynesian culture, Conquest of Paradise.

Although Conquest of Paradise is a nice game, war games and conquering civilizations is contrary to the purpose of Akamai Games, Inc.
Pele’s Perils and ‘Ohana Mana Hawaiian Adventure Games are designed to teach about the Hawaiian culture along with the language and traditions of Hawaii, teach about the geology of the volcanic islands of Hawaii, and spread aloha spirit.
These games have been reviewed by Hawaiian authorities to ensure they are correct in every way to provide a truly educational experience. They include beautiful artwork by Hawaiian artist, Jeff Pagay and are original games designed to spread the aloha spirit and help to keep the Hawaiian culture alive.
