Pyramath from I See Cards is the brainchild of engineering professor Ron Eaglin, who, when not teaching or inventing a card game, spends his time hiking, biking, and paddling through rough terrain and rapids.
Pyramath is a card game for 1 or 2 players. The cards are numbered 1 through 9, and you have to make a pyramid where any card on a row is the math result (+, -, *, or /, and mod 10) of the two numbers above it.
Cards also have the name of the number in six languages.

A research site Onepoll asked UK residents what their favorite board game is and the result was Monopoly. Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Chess, and Cluedo were runners up.
It seems to me that asking people what their “favorite” board game is is more likely to get you the list of the most famous board games, rather than the most favorite board games. Scrabble is the number one selling game this year, for instance. And most board games simply remain unknown to most people, because parents don’t buy them for their kids.
For comparison, Onepoll’s survey of the most popular video games were: Super Mario Bros, Pac-Man, Tetris, The Sims, and Sonic The Hedgehog. (source)

A startlingly clever idea, The Time Machine is a choose your own adventure game on YouTube. The creators made a series of video clips, and you navigate from one to the next through links in the video itself.
Flatland role-playing game is based on the 1880 book Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions by Edwin A. Abbot. Flatland describes a world that is entirely two-dimensional; it’s more of a discussion to help you understand dimensions than it is a novel, but it’s pretty cute.
The game contains rules for character creation, three adventures, four adventure outlines, a war game, and much more, including the original novel. All proceeds are donated to Doctors Without Borders.

The Meadowview Elementary School is collecting new and used board games for a project they call “Batteries Not Included”.
After using the games for three weeks to teach math, reading, directions, and so on, they will send a game home with each child so that the kids can play with their parents (so you may get back the game you donate).
