Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
I don’t like to gush a whole lot over the stuff that Games Workshop puts out – they’re a bit like the manic-depressive you used to date – when they’re good to you, they’re really good, but when they’re bad, they’re really bad. That said, I just had to bring this piece of art to your attention – outstanding. The Brass Scorpion is a war machine for Chaos Space Marines, representing a Khornate demon entering the material world as a savage, gorgeous piece of machinery (there are lots more pics here that give you an idea of how awesome and huge this thing really is). This resin beauty is currently priced at £127.23 and will be available on the 23rd of February from Forge World. I think I’m in love…

But more than just a character sheet, Green Ronin’s Character Record Folio for D&D 4E is 16 pages for all the detail on one (beloved) character’s basic statistics, powers, history of advancement, adventure stories, henchmen, hirelings, animals, magic items, abilities, mundane posessions, etc., etc., etc.
NBOS Software, developer of Fractal Mapper and AstroSynthesis, is offering a free RPG character sheet creation tool. Just to be clear, that’s not a character sheet but rather a tool for creating character sheets. Essentially, it’s a form design program that allows the designer to incorporate check boxes, calculated fields, referece data tables, and other advanced features for players using Microsoft Windows and willing to install the viewer. Think PDF, just less refined and less universal, but maybe cheaper.
