Wizards of the Coast will be changing how it releases new editions of its core Magic: The Gathering sets.

Until now, new core sets were released every two years; this is upping to every year. In addition, core sets will contain at least 50% new cards, including mythic rares. These will have pre-release and launch parties, like other Magic sets.

Cores sets will no longer be names numerically 10, 11, 12, … but instead according to their year of release 2010, 2011, …

Just like the board game market flourishes when the economy goes sour, so does gambling and gambling addicition.

Florida is reporting an increase in calls to their gambling help line (1-888-236-4242), particularly in regards to Black jack which was made legal last year at Tampa’s Hard Rock Casino, operated by the Seminole tribe.
