Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
Following up on Josh’s recent post of resources for custom terrain, I wanted to point out that building your own is feasible as well for Heroscape, despite the awkward tile shapes. For instructions, with examples of lava, water, and ice, visit the dedicated fans over on the Heroscapers boards.

Miss the days of Birthright or BattleSystem? Anxious to mix it up on the battlefield? Hard Boiled Armies, the latest release from One Bad Egg, is an electronic supplement for taking your D&D 4E experience to a military scale using tools already part of the game. Included also are sample armies, methods for incorporating individual characters into the action, counters and power cards, as well as a detailed scenario requiring defense of the city against an invading army. Ooh, I wonder how this might work with seige engines?!?

Herobits, scheduled for release in June, is a non-collectible card game that plays and feels like a CCG. Expansions that continue the story will be released in 50 card playable decks with all the cards.
The game play looks a lot like Magic, and the story is about a future minority human race struggling against a greedy robot coporation.
