San Pietro Infine

san_pietro_infine

A new game from Collins Epic Wargames, Frontline General: San Pietro Infine will be a tactical WWII game with a lavish production.

When I say lavish, I mean $112, and that’s the pre-order price at 30% off. Youch. Check out the components yourself to see if it’s worth it.

In a Living Dice interview with the designer/publisher last year, the game was supposed to be a “a printed, single-scenario standalone game, which acts to introduce players just to the Frontline General Combat System” retailing for $20. I wonder what happened.

Battleforge

battleforgeBattleforge is a new video game / CCG hybrid from EA Phenomic. You can download the software for free from the main site.

The free software comes with 32 of the 200 available cards built-in. To access additional functionality, you have to acquire the other cards. Here’s a list of them.

The story? Something about a dying sun, immortals, gods, frost, shadow, nature, and fire. Does it really matter?

Because some people think Pokemon is only for kids, such as this local group in Albuquerque that tried to ban anyone over age 15 from playing (Pokemon HQ told them to cut it out). (source)

Magic is working on a new set of Duel Decks called Garruk vs Liliana: prebuilt 60 card decks including planeswalkers. (source) Due out in October.

monopolyHasbro’s licensed branding machine is moving full steam ahead. Where once the games were adapted to market other brands, now other items are getting adapted to market Hasbro brands. And not only movies and video games.

Hasbro plans a new line of clothing based around many of its brands. Some of it will come out concurrent with the movie adaptations, and some of it will just come. Hasbro’s Monopoly clothing line will be graphic t-shirts produced by Famous Forever Clothing, Fortune Fashions, Global Licensing, Mad Engine, and Streetwear.
