It’s been a while since I’ve posted about VASSAL, and that’s mostly because I had stopped using it for a while. Now I’m trying to get back into it to coordinate some play-by-email games with my game group.

For those of you who don’t know, VASSAL is an open-source board game engine for playing games on your computer. You can play locally, online, or by email, and there’s tons of different game modules available for use. Keep in mind that VASSAL doesn’t do any major rule tracking, it’s just a virtual board.

VASSAL 3.2.0 has just been released. You can find more information on what’s new in this version here.
