Whether you are an industry veteran with triple-A experience who wants a chance to share your knowledge of the complex craft of game development, an independent developer exploring the experimental edge of game aesthetics, or a critical theorist asking questions about the fundamental nature and cultural context of games and play, we want to talk to you about joining the NYU Game Center.

Ravenwood-a-exteriors-01Love games? Live in Ohio? Want to live in a freakin’ CASTLE? You’re in luck! Ravenwood Castle in New Plymouth, OH is looking for someone to teach people games and help keep up in the inn.

From the posting:

This is a salaried position, and includes living arrangements in the castle. This position is long term, and will be a part of the castle’s management team. Hospitality experience would be great, but isn’t strictly necessary.

What we’re looking for is: the ability to work hard, the willingness to learn a variety of tasks and the ability to work well within a small team.

Potential tasks on any given day include: maintenance, office work, food service, housekeeping, light cooking, tending bar, event planning and teaching and/or playing games with guests. Would require very occasional travel (to GenCon, for instance).

As Chief Game Instructor, this position will have primary responsibility for teaching games to guests of all experience levels, aiding in the design and building of our game library, and assisting with the planning and running of our two annual game conventions.

Make no bones about it, this position is a lot of work, and is anything but a traditional 9 to 5 job. But it’s also a heck of a lot of fun, and you get to be a part of something truly cool.

If you or someone you know is interested in helping us make Ravenwood Castle the premier gaming getaway destination, email me at jobs at ravenwoodcastle.com.

So, yeah. You’d get to live in a castle and play games for a living. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me.
