The first set in the latest Pokémon TCG block, Steam Siege, will be hitting store shelves on August 3rd. This set includes new EX cards such as Shiny Mega Gardevoir-EX, while new BREAK Pokémon include both Xerneas BREAK and Yveltal BREAK. Volcanion and Magearna make their debut in this set.
Steam Siege also includes Dual Type Pokémon, something that hasn’t been seen since the HeartGold & SoulSilver series.
CORRECTION: This article was originally titled “Pokémon TCG: XY Steam Siege Launches August 5th”, as the original press released included that date. Since then I’ve received a correction that the release date would be August 3rd. The article has been edited to reflect that correction.

Pokémon’s 20th anniversary celebrations continue, now with the release of the Mythical Pokémon Collection: Manaphy box.
The box includes a special Manaphy promo card and a pin of the Mythical Pokémon. It’s a limited time collection, and also contains two special Pokémon TCG: Generations booster packs.
If you saw my digital unboxing of the Darkrai box, you know what to expect from the Manaphy on.
I’m a big fan of the Mythical Pokémon Collections. It’s always nice to get promo cards and a pin for a good price. The extra Generations pack are a huge plus.
These are on store shelves now, and are priced at $15.

Nearly 13,000 Pokémon TCG cards went into a record-breaking mosaic created by British artist Quentin Devine. The thing is enormous, measuring 10 meters tall and 7 meters wide. You can tell a lot of Electric-type energy went into it, a lot more than the 3 needed of Pikachu’s 2nd attack.
The mosaic was created as part of the continuing 20th anniversary celebration for Pokémon.
The next set in the BREAK block for Pokémon TCG, BREAKpoint, will be hitting shelves on February 3rd, 2016. The set includes 120 new cards which includes 5 new BREAK cards, and 11 new EX cards. Some of the new BREAK cards include: Trevenant BREAK, Greninja BREAK, Luxray BREAK, while two announced EX cards are Mega Gyarados-EX and Mega Scizor-EX.
As usual you’ll be able to get the cards in Boosters, Elite Trainer boxes, and in two theme decks: Wave Slasher and Electric Eye.
Hitting shelves on November 4th, Pokémon TCG: XY BREAKthrough is a new 160 card set including: 8 new Pokémon-EX, 4 new Mega Evolution Pokémon, and 6 new Pokémon BREAK cards.
BREAK cards are a new evolution mechanic, allowing Pokémon to get a HP boosts and new actions/abilities, but still allowing them to keep their previous attacks. These new cards are landscape format with unique art and a foil treatment.
BREAKthrough will be available in 10 card booster packs, and 2 Theme Decks: Burning Spark and Night Striker. So far there’s no word of an Elite Trainer Box for the set.
I’m excited to test out the new mechanic, and a new layer of depth to a game my whole family enjoys.
