Pokémon TCG Online is getting a major update that will include more than just every card from the new Pokémon TCG: XY—BREAKthrough expansion, including powerful new Pokémon BREAK cards. You’ll also see better in-game graphics, animations, new functionality, and hear new music.
All platforms will see this update, but we haven’t gotten a solid release date yet. Only that it’s coming soon.
You can download Pokemon TCG Online and play for free. I personally love playing this way, as my kids keep all the cards we get and I steal all the digital codes to pull those cards into the online system.
Two men from Iowa, 27 year-old James Stumbo and 18 year-old Kevin Norton, have been arrested by police in Boston on various firearm related charges. After making violent threats against attendees on Facebook, the two were stopped from entering the Pokemon World Championships on Friday. A subsequent search of their car turned up a 12-gauge shotgun, an AR-15 rifle, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and a hunting knife.
I was never a big fan of play mats until very recently. Since then I’ve been on the looking for cool looking mats, and these minimal mats from Legion Supplies are pretty awesome. Each 14” x 24” mat is rubber backed and retails fro $20. They’ll be available soon, and I’ve got my eye on the Triforce one.

Many of you are home today celebrating Father’s Day, and hopefully that includes playing some games!
In our house we’ll be playing some Five Tribes, Star Realms, a LOT of the Pokemon CCG, Boss Monster 2, and maybe even some Heavy Steam. After all, what better way to celebrate being a dad than making your family play games with you! (half-kidding)
What has hit/will be hitting your table today?
Over 90 new card are on their way to the Pokémon TCG in Ancient Origins. Among those new cards are Hoopa-EX, Mega Tyranitar-EX, Mega Ampharos-EX, and Mega Sceptile-EX. There’s also new, shiny versions of Primal Kyogre-EX, Primal Groudon-EX, and Mega Rayquaza-EX, new special energy cards, and the new Mythical power.
Ancient Origins hits shelves August 12th.
The Mega Latios Collections hits store shelves in July, and is what we’ve come to expect from these collections. It’ll include:
I’m a big fan of these collections, as they make great gifts for any Pokémon TCG player. With a retail for $19.99, they’re great to snag the special card, and still get enough cards where the price is totally justified.
Roaring Skies is finally out, and to celebrate The Pokemon Company, in conjuction with Game Stop, is running a special Dragonite distribution event for the Pokémon X, Pokémon Y, Pokémon Omega Ruby, and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire video games. All you need to do is head to a local Game Stop from June 22 to July 12 to get a code to unlock this mighty Pokémon. Gamestop will also have an exclusive Pokémon TCG 3-pack with a Dragonite Collector’s Pin inside.
Also today, the Pokémon TCG Online iPad app was updated and features over 100 new cards from the XY—Roaring Skies set.
Sceptile-EX, Blaziken-EX, and Swampert-EX spotlight the new Hoenn Power Tins for the Pokémon TCG. Each tin contain:
My kids have become huge fans of the tin releases. They love getting that special EX card, and having a cool tin to store their special cards. They’ve even gotten very lucky with the booster packs contained in previous tins. I’m eagerly awaiting the release of these, because now that my kids know they’re coming out I won’t hear the end of it until I do.
The release date is June 17th, and as usual, they’ll be $19.99.
OK! This was my first time trying this out, and my mic volume was WAY too low. At least you can still see the cards from each deck, and get a good look at each one as I go through them. I plan on doing some more of these in the future on my Twitch channel, and will make sure the sound is working correctly.
The real meat of the video starts around the 5 minute mark, so you may want to jump ahead to there.
EDIT: I’ve removed the Twitch player and switched the video over to YouTube because I couldn’t get the previous to stop auto-playing.
This is one you should have seen coming a mile away as soon as I posted out the newest Pokemon set, Roaring Skies. The box, like others before it, will feature an over-sized card (Rayquaza-EX), a new holofoil card that matches the over-sized one, 4 booster packs, and a code card to snag the cards for Pokémon Trading Card Game Online. I don’t have a picture of the box just yet, but I’ll make sure to update this post once I do. Until then you can enjoy this picture of Rayquaza-EX on a Roaring Skies booster pack.
