Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Gryphon Games has just released Fantastiqa by Alf Seegert. The game should be showing up on the shelves of local game stores now.
Fantastiqa is a fantasy deck building game where players travel around a board fighting creatures and adding them to your deck as allies. Some creatures even carry gems which you can use to purchase items or summon more powerful creatures. At the end of the game, the person with the most victory points wins.
It feels like this game takes the now well-known deck building mechanic and plays with it in interesting ways. Another great thing is that simpler rules are included for beginners and children.
Fantastiqa is for 2 – 4 players, ages 8+, and retails for $69.99.

Can you just blatantly copy a famous painting and use it as cover art like that? o.O
Good question. If you license it, then yes. All the artwork in Fantastiqa was licensed by the publisher through Bridgeman Art Library, http://www.bridgemanart.com/
I think that this game is gonna be great and I am so eagerly looking forward to its launch.
