At least that’s the upshot of an article on io9. Apparently, Amazon has pulled author M.C.A. Hogarth’s ebooks from Kindle sales after Games Workshop claimed they infringed on the company’s trademark of “Space Marine”. But according to Hogarth, the trademark only applies to games, while the term was used in fiction by author E.E. Smith in 1932.
Hogarth’s book, Spots the Space Marine: Defense of the Fiddler, is still available in print from Amazon. And now I’m quite curious to read it.
