Chess Collectors International is a club for people who study and collect Chess sets. The group publishes research articles, puts out a newsletter, and holds biannual international meetings. At a recently completed western hemisphere meeting in St. Louis, the group heard presentations on the Staunton Chess sets (that’s the design modern players are most familiar with), the impact of the ivory ban on collecting, and the design of Chess sets as political satire (“Will Hilary be Queen or King?”).
