My Little Pony Movie Games

With My Little Pony: The Movie in theaters, it’s time for the licensed games in stores.

There are, of course, Hasbro’s My Little Pony: The Movie Monopoly Junior ($17), My Little Pony: The Movie Guess Who ($17), My Little Pony: The Movie Pie Face ($20), and My Little Pony: The Movie Candyland ($20), all available now, the first three exclusively at Toys “R” Us.

Releasing to retail November 24th is Seaquestria & Beyond, the ninth set for the My Little Pony CCG from EnterPlay. It adds new keywords, Traveler and Transform, new Mane characters, and elements from the movie, such as the Friendship Festival and The Storm King’s reign of terror. Single packs with 12 cards will be $3.49.

And then there’s The Official Movie Sourcebook ($20) due later this year for Tails of Equestria, the My Little Pony roleplaying game from River Horse. With this, players get new playable races (cats, parrots, hippogriffs, and lizardfolk), NPC stats from the movie, a new adventure, details for areas outside of Equestria, and rule options for factions, reputation, and vehicles.

My Little Pony CCG: The Crystal Games Theme Deck

ENTMLPCCG3574>Do my eyes decieve me? No, they don’t! A MLP:CCG theme deck featuring everyone’s favorite, bumbling pony, Derpy Hooves! (Of course this is only the fan name. Her name was mentioned once in a single episode, and that episode soon had it edited out.) The other Mane Characters in the deck are Spike, the CMC’s, Cadance, and Shining Armor.

The theme deck deals with both the Equestria Games and the events of the Crystal Empire.

They sold me on Derpy. The rest is just icing on the cake. This is one theme deck I’m snagging as soon as it comes out.

My Little Pony Rock ‘N Rave 2-Player Starter Set

ENTMLPCCG3468Coming in August, the Rock ‘N Rave 2-Player Starter Set for the My Little Pony CCG features DJ Pon-3 and Maud Pie. 12 new cards are added, and are never-before-seen Friends, Events, and Troublemakers.

This 2 pack will retail for $18.99 and includes:

  • 2 Special Foil Mane Characters
  • 4 Reference Cards
  • 2 Sets Action Tokens
  • Rule Book
  • Full-size 2-Player Playmat

I still haven’t had a change to play the MLP CCG yet, but I’m hoping to rectify that soon. This may be the set that finally gets me to give it a shot. I am quite partial to DJ Pon-3.

My Little Pony Deck Boxes

We know you’re all fans of the My Little Pony CCG—ICv2 reports that it’s selling like hotcakes—so I’m sure that you’ll be happy to know that soon you won’t have to store those cards in icky generic deck boxes, or worse, extra Magic: The Gathering boxes!

Coming from UltraPro in March are three My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic top-loading deck boxes—Trixie, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity. Each has room for 82 sleeved cards, comes with one themed divider, and has a suggested retail price of $3.

My Little Pony CCG

My Little Pony CCGAnother new entry in the cute and sparkly card game genre this week is EnterPLAY’s My Little Pony CCG. The Premier set consists of 250 cards, made up of mane characters, events, resources, friends, troublemakers, and problems. The game is played head-to-head with each player assigning mane characters and friends to confront problems. Confronting a problem scores a point but both players’ problems must be confronted before new ones can be drawn.

My Little Pony CCG is available in Two-Player Starter Sets, Theme Decks, and 12-card Booster Packs.
