Splendor is now available for PCs via Steam. And Days of Wonder has upgraded the game (iOS and Android) with a fourth challenge pack, Saint Petersburg, based on Russia in the 13th-17th centuries.
Orchard Toys has ported some of their games for preschoolers to iOS.
Reiner Knizia’s Lost Cities card game is getting a virtual reality edition (Samsung Gear VR and VRFocus).
Dr. Knizia is also the designer of Dice Monsters, being brought to iOS by Timecode.
Hammerfall Publishing has launched Warhammer 40,000: Regicide on Steam. The game combines 40K, Chess, and gore.
Go Go Dragons! from Orchard Toys is a racing game with dragons meant for kids as young as four. Players, on their turn, flip a disc and then move forward a space the dragon with the matching color. The dragon that a player moves may or may not belong to that player. Still, the first who’s colored dragon gets to the end wins.
Orchard Toys’ new board games for the preschool crowd include…
Alphabet Match, a game of pairing puzzle pieces.
Farmyard Friends, where children match animal pieces to the farm scenes in which they belong.
Pirate Race Game, an interesting combination of roll-and-move and memory game. As players move their pirate pieces around the board, they pick up cards matching the colors of space on which they land. The goal is to use the cards to complete a picture. A player that lands on a red-x space, however, gets to choose from any of the face-down cards.
Rockets and Comets, which though it’s just Snakes & Ladders with a space theme, looks really cool! [Apparently, all it takes to hook me is a few spaceships.]
New Baby Lotto, a matching game to prepare children for the arrival of a younger sibling.
