Out of the Box Publishing has launched a Social Media Video Competition and is offering a $10,000 top prize for the first video featuring its Snake Oil game to reach 1 million views. Already challenging enough, the deadline for hitting that goal is July 15th.

There are, however, lesser challenges that are part of the competition. The first five videos to hit 100,000 views get $500 and the first three to 500,000 get $1,000.

To be eligible the videos and their creators must be registered.

Out of the Box Publishing’s Snake Oil Party Potion is a more compact version of its party game about making up crazy product pitches. The $15 new release also features a card set developed for younger children (ages 8+, compared to 10+ for Snake Oil).

If you’re not familiar with the original, it works basically like this… Each turn, one player adopts the role of the customer indicated on the customer card. Then the other players choose two word cards from their hands. They use those cards as the basis for product ideas, which they have to pitch to the customer. The customer chooses a favorite to win the round.
