CD Projekt RED and Fantasy Flight Games today announced the upcoming release of The Witcher Adventure Game. Based on the books and hack-and-slash roleplaying video game series, The Witcher Adventure Game will send players on a variety of quests as characters from the story. Along the way they will hunt monsters, collect gold, and find themselves caught up in intrigue and diplomacy.
The characters may need to help each other but this is not a cooperative game.
The Witcher Adventure Game, though, does promise to challenge characters with difficult moral decisions. And I notice that the game is suggested for players 16 years or older. I can’t remember the last time I saw that.
Though it’s been a while since the last such game, Fantasy Flight is know for producing board games based on video titles. The Witcher Adventure Game is being designed by Ignacy Trzewiczek, who’s previous work includes Stronghold, Robinson Crusoe, and 51st State.
