Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
SimplyFun is the Avon (or Mary Kay, or Tupperware) of the board gaming world. Not only do they sell games via “consultants” who host board game nights / sales events in neighbor’s houses, they’ve published a slew of decent games. That’s pretty good for any game publisher.
According to my source, whenever Sara Smith of Blissfield, Michigan, sells $400 worth of games, SimplyFun donates $80 worth of games to an organization of the seller’s choice. She’s helped donate games to educational institutions in her area three times, so far.
But according to SimplyFun’s website, that $80 is supposed to be credit to Sara for selling the games. So, if I’ve got this all correct, it’s Sara who’s doing the donating.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
I looked it up too, as that sounded kinda wierd. On Simply Fun’s blog it looks like they started a new program called Play it Forward where Simply Fun matches what the host makes and sends the amount in games to the host’s charity of choice. Their blog article link is below.

Tim you are correct. SimplyFun is currently running a promotion called Play it Forward. The consultants have not yet been told whether the program will be continued. It was first offered the end of April.
