Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
From Mick Bradley’s TGTMB blog/podcast we learn about the Jeremy “Boo” Rochman Memorial Park in Carbondale, Illinois. The public park was built by Jeremy’s parents as a memorial after the avid Dungeons & Dragons gamer died in an automobile accident. Check out the pics from Mick’s visit on his Picasa photo album. The park contains many of the standard D&D fantasy elements, including a castle and large dragon. What a great place to take the kids. I can’t imagine a better place for introducing the next generation to the sense of wonder and adventure that we get from RPGs.
By the way, to help support maintenance of the park, you can donate here.

I am trying to get information on the Jeremy “Boo” Rochman Memorial Park in Carbondale. I live in West Frankfort and I have never heard of the park. It sounds like it would be a great place to take my grandchildren and great grandchildren. If you could send me more information, like the days and hours that it is open, I would really appreciate it. I found the web site for the part but did not see when it was open. Thank you in advance.
