Monte Cook has announced that Paizo Publishing has taken Monte’s collection of house rules and modifications to the D&D 3.5 game (originally published as the PDFs, Book of Experimental Might and Book of Experimental Might II) and will be offering them as a nice printed book.  Now, you may ask, “Why do I care about 3.5?  I already have 4.0!”  But I say to you that there is solid gaming goodness to be had here!  For example, Monte’s changes to the game include:

  • New takes on the main character classes
  • Tons of new spells, feats and magic items
  • New base classes
  • A completely revamped spell progression chart
  • Magical disciplines that are spell-like abilities without the annoying praying/studying (sound familiar?)
  • Fighting domains that allow warriors to further specialize
  • A completely revamped feat system

Heck, with this puppy in hand, you may decide that 3.5 has plenty of life left after all! (and if you can’t wait, you can always purchase the PDF or print on demand versions from Monte directly!)  If you can hold out, the Paizo book will be available before the end of the year.
