Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
Mattel announced that it would be eliminating 1,000 jobs (3% of its workforce) in light of “tough economic situations”.
Which makes not too much sense to me, seeing as 1) it’s coming on Christmas, and 2) toys and games actually get a boost during tough economic times, 3) they’re launching a new line of products, including several new licensed products, as well as Bezzerwizzer, and 4) it’s not going to make the tough economic times any easier for the families of the 1,000 people who are no longer working.
