Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
Now appearing at retailers is Red November, a game about Soviet Gnomes and their comedic attempts to stave off catastrophe in a sinking submarine. I had a brief chance to play a preview copy at Gen Con and it looks to be a very dynamic and entertaining cooperative board game. Interestingly, Red November was originally designed as a war game simulating the tragedy of the Russian vessel Kursk. Multiple publishers, though, were apparently unprepared to put out a game on that subject so soon after the disaster. Eventually Fantasy Flight Games decided to take on the project with a more humorous theme.
