There’s a kerfuffle in Malaysia, where the Bahraini champion was summarily tossed out of the Causway Challenge for allegedly picking his tiles while holding the bag in a suspicious manner. The eviction came without any sort of warning.

The chairman of the World English-language Scrabble Players Association is now investigating.

“Having been director for over a hundred national, regional and international Scrabble contests in Bahrain, India and Oman, I’ve never heard of a player being expelled from a Scrabble tourney, least of all by how he was holding the tile bag,” said Mr Kietzman.
