Some KB Toys stores have already closed. Others may not accept the gift cards after today. NY stores made a deal with the Attorney General to accept them until at least Jan 11.

KBToys.com, which is a separate but related company, didn’t even sell any gift cards this holiday season, and doesn’t accept cards bought at brick and mortar KB Toys stores. They give a telephone number to find the KB Toys store nearest you, but when I called it, the line was disconnected.

The same goes for all other stores that may be in trouble.
