Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
Field Marshal Games is offering “hex connectors” for your Settlers of Catan games. They look like they might work in keeping your Settlers hexes from sliding away from each other.
They also look rather expensive for a utility component that works for one game. But I’m sure you could find a number of other good uses for them.

1I really like that these pieces come separately, so you can configure any type of board you want. The colours match great to the land and sea hex’s, and it makes the game a lot easier to play, because things aren’t moving and sliding all over the place. There’s also enough space in between the tiles to fit the roads.
I used to use a pre-made board that came as one solid piece that you could put the tiles into, but I’ve now switched to these hex’s, because with the pre-made board I was limited in the size/type of board that I could create. Once you snap these hex’s together, they are really secure, and they won’t fall apart, so you can easily pick up your entire “board” and move it anywhere you want.
I love these new hex’s, and I would strongly recommend them to any Catan player who’s ever wanted to move their game, or who just wants to have a more stable playing surface.
They really add a whole new dimension to the board.

3These products are custom made by a new games company called Field Marshal Games. I am a moderator of the forum on their website.
So far they launched a couple of custom made products, and have many more in the works.
