Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
Many things come in the form of a deck of cards, and some of them push the boundaries of what could be considered a game.
With Little Star Bedtime Cards, you bring them with you when you put your child to bed. The child selects one, and you use the question on the card as inspiration to tell something comforting or familiar about your life.
There are no winners and losers, but there is an element of chance, and it requires creativity and roleplaying. A little imagination and you could turn it into more traditional roleplaying.

Hi Purple Pawn: Thank you for your review of Little Stars Bedtime Cards. Your site is a great resource for those researching games. You rightly point out that Bedtime Cards are not a game. The cards were actually created as a parenting tool to make bedtime easier for parents and their young children. The parent chooses a card, slips it under the child’s pillow, lets them discover it, and then enjoys a gentle bedtime ritual with the child that helps the child fall asleep feeling loved and secure. Each card includes discussion questions that can be used to help the child talk about their feelings, with themes such as ‘I am brave’ and ‘I have lots of love in me.’ The cards help to spark dialogue between parent and child, often about topics that wouldn’t come up during the course of the day, or during the ‘tell and yell’ show that sometimes accompanies bedtime, when everyone’s energy is low. Parents whose children are experiencing anxiety have told us that the cards are a non-threatening, easy way for kids to open up about what’s worrying them. Find out more at http://www.bedtimecards.com. Thanks again for the review of our “non-game”!
