The Christian Science Monitor pimps board game clubs in China, including Settlers of Catan and American games. Details about why the Chinese (who have a traditional culture of board games, already) are attracted to the new games. And a mention about the South China Board Game Alliance, a group of clubs that are fighting against board game knockoff-making infringers. (source) That link to the SCBGA might not be to what I think it is. It seems to have links to dozens of game clubs in Southern China.
