Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
The International Gamers Awards has selected Unhappy King Charles as the winner in its Historical Simulations category. Unhappy King Charles is a card-driven war game from GMT. It presents the English civil war using the mechanics pioneered in We the People to demonstrate the spread of political influence and control. In this game, however, by dividing the cards in to three decks for the early, mid, and late war periods, the game forces players to deal with limited options resulting from historical facts. Then again, the game also comes with another deck of alternate history events.
