Ken Thompson, the creator of the UNIX operating system, as well as B (the precursor to the C programming language), regular expressions, UTF-8 character encoding, and Belle, an early notable Chess playing computer, has co-created a new open-source programming language for Google called Go.
Go refers to Google, of course, but also to the classic Asian board game. (source)
