A recent Harris poll [PDF] indicates that 54% of Americans aged 18 or older will purchase one or more toys as a gift this holiday season. Of those, 30% plan to purchase one or more board games. By my calculation, that means that over 37 million board games will be purchased in the next month and a half.
Only slightly more (36% of toy buyers) indicate that they will buy video games or consoles.

Of those 37 million board games, 33 million will be variants of Monopoly.
