Social networking website Chess.com has acquired other social networking site Chesspark in a last-minute deal that includes the membership data and records, but not the technology, servers, or staff of the latter. Chesspark received $1 million in funding in 2007 but was actually the smaller of the two sites. Its founders had left the business for another venture in 2008 and were looking for a home for Chesspark members before the imminent expiration of hosting arrangements.

Not connected I understand, but BoardGameGeek, you might be interested to know, dwarfs either of these two sites. Recently released statistics show BGG with approximately 11 million unique visitors over the last year. Compete shows BGG at twice the traffic of Chess.com and around 50 times Chesspark. So what would be their valuation?
