Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
Invisible City Productions may have stopped posting free games every month, but that’s only because they’re hard at work on a full-fledged game called Inevitable, deigned by Jeremy P. Bushnell and Jonathan A. Leistiko and scheduled for release this summer. The game will be available as an abridged free print and play game, a full pay for print and play game, and a nice fully-produced boxed set. It’s for 3 to 5 players.
Inevitable is a board game in the same dystopian comic world inhabited by games such as Paranoia and their ilk. Your job is to beat the overlord computer system in an election. The basic mechanic is roll-and-move, do what the space says. However, there are tons of decision-making mechanics on top of that, as well as variable player powers, player combat, resource and money management, and so on.
They offer several ways of tracking development of the game through their site, as well as some video clips of the design process.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
FYI: The game is now available.
