Z-Man has added its entry to games about the struggle for the English crown with the aptly titled Wars of the Roses: Lancaster vs. York. Actually, ‘Wars of the Roses” was going to be the name for Richard III, but when Columbia dropped it, Z-Man picked it up. Also, don’t confuse it with GMT’s war game on the same subject, Crown of Roses. Wars of the Roses is a Euro-style strategy games with area control, secret planning, simultaneous deployment, and resource management elements. The version places a heavy emphasis on securing the support of the various noble houses. Bribery and treachery are encouraged.
