Nestor Romeral recalls reading a book that his father gave him when he was 8 years old.  The book, “Les jeux de reflexión”, was about game history and design.  It also contained a list of some abstract games, and a short description of each.

One of these games was Epaminondas.  The picture of the board stuck with Nestor.  It’s been 30 years since that fateful reading, he’s made his own copy.  Not only that, but Nestrorgames is now selling a beautiful Epaminondas board.  The game is portable, and comes with a nice carrying bag.

You can find out more info from the Nestorgames site.

The story behind this is wonderful.  The fact that this game stuck in his head for 30 years, and now he’s realized it, is amazing.
