Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
So what do you play?
Of course I understand that many of our readers play a variety of different types of games, but what do you play the most?
I mostly play board games, but dabble in RPGs from time to time. I also love a good miniatures game, but haven’t really played since college. I’ve also played a wargame or two, but nothing that regularly hits the table.
For this week’s poll you can actually select more than one answer, so just check off all the types of games you play!
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
200+ board games, board game podcast, BSW play, etc. Yeah, definitely board games. Although I do one or two ccgs and am ramping up a Pathfinder game as well as attempting to ramp down a 4e game in addition to enjoying three or four miniatures games… Really, if it’s a game I’ll probably play it regardless of what style it happens to be.
I run a regular AD&D 1E game, and am getting into Field of Glory for miniatures. Board games like Last Night on Earth and Red Dragon Inn are something I don’t play as often as I’d like. And I still do solo games of things like OGRE/GEV, NATO, World War 3, and Invasion America (although again, not as often as I’d like).
What are wargames that are distinct from board games and miniatures?
Andy, see the terminology page.
Oh, I used to RPG. And for years I stayed up to date on materials, books and such, thinking I would get back to it. Now my kids are teens and I’m extremely lucky if I can get a long board game to the table. So, it’s been just board games for years. I’d love it if time allowed otherwise, though.
