Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
Innovention Toys has redesigned the laser board game Khet. It’s more Khet 1.5 than a Khet 2.0: the box has changed, the game is lighter, and the pieces are sculpted and thematic, as opposed to the block shapes from the first set. The rules don’t appear to have changed.
1.5 or 2.0, lasers are still cool.

Actually, there is a big change. The lasers are no longer built into the board; they are instead inside a Sphinx piece for each player that is placed in each player’s lower right corner. Instead of moving or rotating a piece, a player can rotate their Sphinx to change between firing down the right column and firing along the back row.
The Obelisks are renamed “Anubises” and each player only has two, and they don’t stack.
Also, Anubis is invulnerable to frontal attack. Still, it’s basically the same game.
