Sifteo cubes are little computers that have motion detectors in them. They can also detect nearby Sifteo cubes.

What’s so cool about that? They also connect wirelessly to your computer, and will have an app store to download all sorts of games to the cubes. The board gaming possibilities with these babies is almost infinite.

They’re not out yet, but should start shipping first quarter of this year. You can preorder a starter pack for $99 which comes with 3 cubes, a charger, points for the app store, and a coupon for %50 off an order of $200 or less from the site.

Will these catch on? Who knows, but it looks interesting. I hope some really awesome board games come out for these things.
