Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
It’s been a while since we’ve sat down to parlay, so let’s jump right back into things.
This week we’re taking about gaming at the library. Do you game at the library? Would you game at the library? Do you just not care at all?
I’ve been interested in the subject ever since Scott Nicholson released the book “Everyone Plays at the Library: Creating Great Gaming Experiences for All Ages.” Having moved to a new town recently, a visit to the library opened my eyes to how possible it may be to setup a game night there.
So right now I don’t game at the library, but I’m really interested in setting something up here at my local one.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Our gaming club http://www.knightsofgaming.org meets at the local library in their meeting room. However we don’t ever really get anyone in the library to come into the room to look around.
Rockville Library has group rooms on a first come first serve basis, which means it’s a bit hard to plan around.
We have had three gaming days here in Shreveport at the local libraries. They are great. The rooms are free and we have had some foot traffic from non-gamers.
Our gaming group meets at our local library twice a month. Bangor Area Gamers Guild or BAGG is a standalone club, not affiliated with the library, but they are more than happy to have us there. You can find us on Facebook, just search for BAGG.
