Welcome to Purple Pawn, covering games played around the world by billions of people every day.
Huquuqi, or “My Rights”, is an Arabic-language board game from the Emirates Association for Human Rights, an organization that doesn’t appear to have an English website, and Falconcity of Wonders, a 40 million sq foot Dubai construction project that was halted in 2009.
The game is supposed to teach children about their basic rights under UAE law. It appears to be some kind of roll and move game, which means that success and failure are meted out according to the capricious whims of powers beyond any player’s control, without any means of appeal or provisions for changing the rules, so … nailed it.
