Pokemon Black & White is the latest from the vast media brand thing that is Pokemon. In case you’ve fallen behind, here’s the situation in a nutshell:
Pokemon was originally a video game. The original game was “red and green”. Then came blue, yellow, gold, silver, crystal, ruby, sapphire, emerald, diamond, pearl, and platinum, and now black and white. I’ve missed a whole lot of stuff here, but this is the basic pattern. The video game series is the second best selling for Nintendo, after Mario.
Each set became an anime and a manga and then a collectible card game. The CCG had a video game version in the early 2000’s which was well regarded. Starting with Pokemon Black and White, there is now an online version to go with the CCG (buy the physical cards, unlock codes, etc…) called Trainer Challenge. The cards appear to be selling well. Minor Correction: The original Pokemon was ‘Red and Blue’
