Mage Wars® is designed by Bryan Pope and his sggc Arcane Wonders, and will be published by Elfinwerks. The game is scheduled for release next year, but you can see a demo at Origins next week. It’s a fantasy combat card-driven board game; what else do you need to know?

What I find funny here is the registered trademark for “Mage Wars”. “Mage Wars” is currently used by Avalon Games for a series of mini-games. The term is also associated with a series from Mercedes Lackey and Larry Dixon, the name a period in the Discworld universe, and the name for a game in development by someone named Tyrell.
