A third-grader at NYC’s Our World Neighborhood Charter School elementary school has reversed the school’s ban on Pokemon TCG. Nine year old Lucas Ayala’s letter about the subject was written after a school lesson on persuasive letter writing.

Lucas wrote the letter extolling the mathematical principles of the game and gave it to his teacher, who passed it up the levels of command until it reached the assistant principal. The assistant principal agreed to reverse the ban on the game, under limited situations. The principal’s response letter also noted the potential virtues of using Pokemon and other games within the math curricula.

Both letters at source.
