I don’t know that they can lay undisputed claim to the “World” in their title, but the “World” Chess Hall of Fame – originally the U.S. Chess Hall of Fame, and founded by the USCF – has a new home in St Louis as of Sept 9. Site indicates that FIDE will have something to do with the “world” aspect of the site.

Actually, it doesn’t look much like a “Hall of Fame” either, since the site lists exhibitions of famous, pretty, and historic chess items, but no exhibitions of famous people. However, some famous players are on hand for the opening, and the hall is associated with the grand St Louis Chess Club.
